Community Animator, Library at The Dock, City of Melbourne
Kimberley Pierzchalski is the ‘Community Animator’ for Docklands based at ‘The Dock’ precinct – City of Melbourne’s exciting community and knowledge precinct in Docklands which consists of Library @ The Dock (Library and Community Centre), Buluk Park and the Community Hub at The Dock housing tenants, Family Services, Boating Hub and community space. While having an extensive background in arts and creative programming, she does not actually specialise in ‘animation’ a la Disney or Sponge Bob Square Pants, but instead undertakes place-based community activation through program development, collaboration, brokering and developing partnerships. As part of a shared leadership team at The Dock she also manages the venues, activating and operating 16 diverse and unique spaces with the community hubs team in Libraries and Recreation.
Previous to City of Melbourne Kimberley was also a creative producer with Revolt Melbourne and Artistic Director for Rah Rah productions. She has also worked overseas in both Scotland and Poland primarily in arts, educational and entertainment industries and also has completed post graduate studies in Arts and Entertainment management and holds a BA in Contemporary arts – media.
Kimberley is passionate about our creative and cultural capital and envisions places that are shared, diverse, creative and thriving. She also continues her interests in theatre directing, research, reading, traveling and hiking.
