Fast fashion has made it easy and affordable to keep up with the latest trends, but not without disastrous consequences on the environment. In Australia, the average person buys 27kg of new clothing every year, then throws away 23kg of that, with the majority destined for landfill. It’s a problem that SCR Group is seeking to address through its reuse and recycling programs. A purpose-driven business, the group works in¬†partnership with social enterprises, NGOs and charities to¬†improve the livelihoods of the communities in which it operates, including providing sustainable employment opportunities for people with disabilities and disadvantaged youth at risk.
